Album for the Young

Working on Tchaikovsky’s Album of the Young for woodwind quintet. My goal is to arrange about 6-8 parts for a beginning woodwind quintet. The challence is to write within the playing range, but yet colorful. And with maximum 3 sharps or minors.

Also comming up:

horn quartet: Pavane by Fauré, Easy WInners
horn quintet: Pavane by Fauré
Clarinet quartet: Bach – Presto form the Italian concerto

Tico Tico adapted for mixed ensemble

Last week I got the request to adapt the woodwind quintet version of Tico Tico to a version with alto saxophone and bass clarinet instead of french horn and bassoon. Of course, it would be very simple to change these parts one to one, but the alto saxophone has a higher range and a different sound then the horn. So I chose to re-arrange the piece.

You can see and here the result here: Tico Tico for flute, oboe, clarinet, alto sax and bass clarinet:

Tico Tico no fubá | Zequinha de Abreu | wind quintet (flute-oboe-clarinet-alto sax-bass clar)

Tango from Albeniz for woodwind quintet

Beautyfull music, composed for piano in 1890 arranged for woodwind quintet (also availbable for clarinet quartet) in 2 different keys (D and C). Sounds great in combination with Cadiz from Suite Española (Albeniz) and Zarabanda from Danzas Españolas (Granados) and the “Spanish” parts from Carmen!

New releases

Just finished 2 arrangements of Wagners Bridal March for clarinet quartet and horn quartet. I think I will make one more for woodwind quintet….

Now working on The Entertainer by Scott Joplin for clarinet choir as well for clarinet quartet. Really fun working on this. Just had the idea to make it also for horn sextet 🙂

And of course, the Christmas Medley must be finished! Level easy-medium

Any suggestions for an arrangement? Let me know!
